Each February, the Paul and Sheila Wellstone MD Center hosts Lab Day - a chance for researchers and MD Community members to gather and learn more about the research being done here at the Unviersity of Minnesota and how it is impacting patients lives.
Through an ongoing partnership with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the MD Center and MDA host an annual summer picnic for MD Community Members and their families. At this annual event, lunch is served along with an opportunity to try various outdoor adaptive activities from Three Rivers Park District.
Now in its eighth year, the MD Center Family Weekend has become a weekend our Pediatric patients and their families look forward to each fall. This event is an opportuntity for families of those living with muscular dystrophy to enjoy a fun family weekend filled with game, crafts, camp fires, swimming, family centered activities and more! The unique facilities at Camp Courage allow families to enjoy a weekend away with other families just like yours!

Morning for Muscle
Programs and research to support our MD community need funding. With the Morning for Muscle fundraiser, the MD Center aims to educate Minnesotans who may not know about the desperate need for a cure to and support for muscular dystrophy. In so doing, the MD center hosts a breakfast event to encourage financial donations to the MD Center and to educate audience members about MD.
